Clever - A launchpad for student logins

Over the past few weeks, I have had the unique opportunity to pilot Clever in my classroom for JCPS. Clever gives students and teachers a single login for all their online learning programs and resources, personalized for each user's needs.

Let me just tell you...this is the primary teacher's DREAM, although I'm sure teachers of all grades will appreciate it's efficiency and usefulness. 

For the tech savvy teachers who have students with 247 log-ins for their kids to memorize...STOP MAKING ALL THOSE LOGIN CARDS(that will end up lost anyway!).  Clever provides a one-time login that requires nothing more than a QR code. (K teachers - I KNOW!!!)  


If you are using iPads, students simply sign in using their Clever badge, no usernames or passwords needed! If they are using a Chromebook, the application authenticates with Google, so no further usernames or passwords needed. 

Once signed in, students use their homepage, or additional teacher pages to get to where they need to go. If you are a 1:1 school, it's a one-stop-shop for all your students needs. Seriously, y'all...GAME CHANGER. 



One click on any link and the student is taken straight to their page, already logged in!

We are still in the very beginning stages of seeing what Clever can do, but I can't wait to explore more. The possibilities seem endless!

    Kayla,
    I've seen "login with Clever" on a few of the tech tools I use, but I've never thought much about it. That being said, this looks like an AMAZING tool for those of us fighting the constant "what's my login/username/password?" battle. I would love to use this at my school. Do you know if Clever is a free platform or one that is paid? I'd love to show this to my administration and see if it could be used in our K-2 classes.

      I believe it is paid. JCPS has bought Clever for the district. I actually looked into it because I kept seeing it pop up everywhere. Then when we read about Launchpad in Blended, I looked into how I could access it! I reached out to some IT people in JCPS and volunteered to pilot it! I think they will be rolling it out next year to everyone.

    Kayla, this looks like a very handy tool and is probably very primary teachers that have to spend a lot of time logging students into their online learning tools. Congratulations on being selected to pilot this program. This is very exciting to know we might have access to it as early as next year!

    I'm wondering how your students log onto Clever with all the badges on one ring? I teach library/media and have over 900 students...I'm trying to find the best way to store their badges (and keep me sane!). Thanks for your help!

This week I'm talking about an app that does it all...behavior management, photo/video sharing, and parent communication. Class Dojo is a great way to motivate students, as well as keep parents in the loop.  I originally stated using Classdojo for behavior management. With Dojo, teachers can assign each student their own avatar to which they are assigned points. Teachers can use both positive and "needs work" points for student behavior. One of the features I like most is that you can create your own skills for awarding or deducting points.
